It was a gun that saved lives on a baseball diamond, not gun control!

INTERESTING

A 66-year-old man from Illinois asked a passerby if the people playing baseball were Democrats or Republicans. James T. Hodgkinson then proceeded to shoot Republicans who were practicing for a charity baseball game.

Rep. Mike Bishop (R-MI) said that it took security with a gun to stop the shooter. Bishop described his colleagues as ‘sitting ducks’ that morning. He also believes that Hodgkinson would have gone after them and shot them all point-blank.

Bishop described the event to reporters:

“As we were standing here this morning, a gunman walked up to the fence line and just began to shoot. I was standing at home plate and he was in the third base line,” Bishop said. “He had a rifle that was clearly meant for the job of taking people out, multiple casualties, and he had several rounds and magazines that he kept unloading and reloading.”

It was a gun that saved lives on a baseball diamond that morning.

If it hadn’t been for armed security at the field, many people would have died.

The shooting lasted for approximately 10 minutes. Some accounts place the number of shots fired at around 100.

Bishop escaped uninjured, but Majority House Whip, Steve Scalise was shot in the hip, and 4 others were also wounded.

According to Bishop, The only reason why any of us walked out of this thing, by the grace of God, one of the folks here had a weapon to fire back and give us a moment to find cover.”

Clash Daily reports:

The early morning shooting of Republicans practicing for a charity baseball game isn’t an argument AGAINST the Second Amendment…

…it’s an argument FOR it.

A gun saved lives today on a baseball diamond.
