Openly Socialist 2020 candidate Bernie Sanders just got burned over socialism by Carl Bildt, Sweden’s former Prime Minister.
Sweden is very close to the former Soviet Union and its people understood the horrors of communism quite well.
Mr Bildt wrote “Bernie Sanders was lucky to be able to get to the Soviet Union in 1988 and praise all its stunning socialist achievements before the entire system and empire collapsed under the weight of its own spectacular failures.”
Yikes, quite a burn from the former prime minister of Sweden — a country that @BernieSanders often praises as a model for the US –> https://t.co/JTjLxFkhxB

Ouch, that has to hurt!
People had no personal freedoms, were used like inanimate pawns, and could be ‘disappeared’ by the secret police at the drop of a hat. But hey, they could go to the theatre for $1.50. What a deal!

This exactly the next country to be truly communist, Will be the first because no one in power is going to give up said power. pic.twitter.com/VLpBuijOv2

This video reminds me of the YouTube creators who were invited to North Korea and made videos about their surfing and beaches, how wonderful and clean it all is…
Of course, they were under guard and weren’t permitted out of Moscow… er, I mean Pyongyang. 👍

@bernie saw what he wanted to and ignored obvious issues with the USSR. In 1988 there were lines for bread, sugar was rationed and so was gasoline. Traveling outside the country was illegal for its citizens. It was an oppressed third world level of life and he loved it?

I knew a couple of Soviet citizens back in the 80s. They absolutely loved standing in long lines for basic items. If I remember Tuesday was milk day.
