It seems the newest socialist in Congress makes enemies wherever she goes.
Yesterday, we told you about the conservative group Job Creators Network erecting a billboard in Times’ Square to call out Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for opposing a $3 billion deal for Amazon to build a new Queens campus. The billboard blames AOC for helping deny the Big Apple 25,000 jobs, $4 billion in wages, and $12 billion in economic growth.
Ocasio-Cortez shot back with a tweet containing an attack on the group’s funders and some chest-puffery about “dark money & anti-worker policies,” but little to say about the billboard’s content:
Few things effectively communicate the power we’ve built in fighting dark money & anti-worker policies like billionaire-funded groups blowing tons of cash on wack billboards (this one is funded by the Mercers).
(PS fact that it’s in Times Sq tells you this isn’t for/by NYers.) https://t.co/B4QTPi1r2k

“Wack”? Seriously? I suppose that’s about the level of substantive response we should expect from a political newbie who constantly projects the sense she’s just parroting what she hears from Berkeley lectures and Young Turks podcasts.
Now, JCN is firing back with a reply across two more billboards:
“Hey AOC, Saw your wack tweet […] Hey AOC, this billboard cost about $4,000. But you cost NY 24,000 jobs and $4,000,000,000 in annual lost wages. Ouch!”
The New York Post has the scoop:
Is Ocasio-Cortez embarrassing?
“Our first billboard in Times Square went up Wednesday. The next day, we moved to a more prominent location in Times Square, this time with two billboards,” said the group’s spokeswoman Elaine Parker.
“The contract is for $4,000. We’ve been getting a great response, so we haven’t decided how long they will run for.”
The addition of the second billboard came just hours after the congresswoman shot back at the group in a late night Wednesday tweet.
JCN had a bit more to say at their own website.
“Facts are facts: while the Job Creators Network did spend some money highlighting the economic consequences of the Amazon pullout, Ocasio-Cortez deprived New York of 25,000 new jobs and $4 billion in annual wages,” the group’s CEO Alfredo Ortiz said. “She can call us out all she wants about how we spend our money, but it’s clear that most people care more about how she spends theirs.”
A passerby named Liza told the Post she thought the stunt “seems kindergartenish, but that’s their right.” Perhaps, but hopefully sane New Yorkers will care more about the economic numbers it displays for all to see.
Then again, if sane New Yorkers were the norm, they wouldn’t have sent AOC to Congress in the first place, or voted in a bunch of state politicians who just legalized virtually-unlimited abortions…
