How you behave on your last day in a job depends greatly on the circumstances you are leaving under. For some, it is a day for teary farewells and reminiscing, for others, it’s about sneakily taking a slash in their boss’s filing cabinet.
However, if a guy turns up on their last day wearing a Spider-Man costume, then it’s kind of hard to gauge what exactly it is they’re trying to say. But that is precisely what happened at a bank in São Paulo, Brazil.
Obviously, due to the very nature of a Spider-Man costume, it’s impossible to identify who the man is, but clearly he is most definitely a hero.
The pictures show that Spidey’s job wasn’t a customer-facing role, which is perhaps for the best. If he was out on the front desk, customers may have feared they were in the midst of some kind of heist situation.
As it was, he appears to have spent most of the day on a computer in an office… presumably he was on the web.
Perhaps though the spider-based superhero quit his job at the bank because he has a big year ahead.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is due to be released on 5 July and in the recently released trailer, we see Peter Parker and Spidey (Tom Holland) setting off on a school trip before meeting Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury for the first time. We also finally get a look at Mysterio, who is being played by Jake Gyllenhaal.
There has been much speculation about how exactly Spider-Man will make his return, considering he was dusted by Thanos at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. This puzzle is made all the more confusing by the fact Spider-Man: Far From Home is apparently set after the film.
In 2017, Sony producer Amy Pascal told Fandom: “We are starting now the next one which will start a few minutes after Avengers 4 wraps as a story.”
Subsequently, many Marvel fans are speculating that the remaining Avengers are able to undo the work of Thanos in the upcoming Avengers: Endgame film, perhaps using some kind of time travel.
There has also been a longstanding theory that Dr Strange was going to be the one who saved the fate of the world.
Or perhaps we’re all just going to have to wait and see, as the Avengers: Endgame trailer revealed more questions than answers.
All we do know is that Spider-Man is too busy to work at a bank.
