House Speaker Nancy Pelosi just wrapped up one of the most confusing and bizarre press conferences we’ve ever seen.

And since opening day of Major League Baseball is only days away, we’ll give her three strikes before calling her out.

First, she came out in favor of lowering the voting age to 16.

Pelosi said this was something she’s “always” supported, but her record says differently.

From The Washington Free Beacon:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) on Thursday said she has “always been for lowering the voting age to 16.”

Pelosi was asked by a reporter at her weekly press briefing whether she believed the issue of lowering the national voting age to 16 years old would gain traction in Congress. …

“I myself, personally, not speaking for my caucus, I myself have always been for lowering the voting age to 16,” Pelosi said. “I think it’s really important to capture kids when they’re in high school, when they’re interested in all of this, when they’re learning about government.” …

Second, Pelosi accidentally forgot the name of the infamous “Green New Deal,” struggling and stumbling over her words trying to describe it and, strangely, suggesting that Democratic policies might go “beyond” it.

From The Washington Free Beacon:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) stumbled over the name of the Green New Deal Thursday when a reporter asked about the proposal during her weekly press conference. …

“As with all the initiatives that you’re hearing about, that will go to committee,” she said of the Green New Deal. “That has different committees because it has different pieces to it.”

“I’m more excited about our Select Committee on Climate chaired by Cathy Castor of Florida, which will be having its hearings, evidence-based recommendations, some of which will be consistent with some of what’s in the… in the… Green Deal, New Green Deal,” she started in an apparent attempt to recall the proposal’s name. “Some of it might be even beyond that.”

Pelosi’s forgetfulness, whether genuine or feigned, comes after she previously downplayed the radical Green New Deal in favor of other initiatives. “It will be one of several or maybe many suggestions that we receive,” Pelosi said the week the plan was unveiled. “The Green Dream or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they’re for it right?” She said in the weeks after its release that the Green New Deal “goes beyond what our charge is” on climate change and has an agenda that is “not what we hope to achieve.” …

Finally, Pelosi again stumbled all over herself when she was asked to name a single accomplishment of Beto O’Rourke, who announced his candidacy for president this morning.

Spoiler Alert: She couldn’t.

From The Washington Free Beacon:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) on Thursday couldn’t name any specific accomplishments of former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke (D.).

Pelosi was asked during her weekly press briefing to name O’Rourke’s “signature accomplishment” during his three-term tenure in the House, prompting Pelosi to stumble with her response. She began by saying O’Rourke “brought vitality” to Congress before getting around to discuss issues he focused on.

“When he came, he came as a real champion for the environment. He got a great deal of support from the environmental community in his district,” Pelosi said.

“He won in a primary on that subject, and also, he was a member of the Armed Services Committee, a strong member of the Armed Services Committee, which is very important for his district. So preserving our planet and protecting our people, there are at least two areas in addition to his vitality,” Pelosi continued. …

Just another day in the life of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
