Nickelodeon has announced a new Are You Afraid of the Dark? TV miniseries that will be coming to the network in October 2019.
The series will coincide with the upcoming feature film of the same name, that will premiere on October 4, 2019, from Paramount Pictures, Paramount Players, and Nickelodeon Movies.
Are You Afraid of the Dark? will follow the format of the classic anthology that first premiered in 1990. New members of the Midnight Society will gather around a campfire and tell their scary stories among the woods and darkness.
One of the other popular 90s’ pop-culture hits, All That, will be returning as well. The series will be a weekly sketch-comedy, showcasing a new cast of kids – but old cast members are said to make appearances throughout the season.
Kenan Thompson – one of the original cast members of All That – and Kevin Kay will executive produce the series with Jermaine Fowler on as a consulting producer. All That is set to premiere sometime in the summer of 2019.
Other shows announced from Nickelodeon include Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, Blue’s Clues & You!, and a new Paddington series that is currently untitled, but will have the original actor from the films, Ben Whishaw, reprising his role.
Nickelodeon also just announced a new SpongeBob SquarePants spin off and TV special in celebration of its 20th anniversary. For more on new shows coming to Nickelodeon, check out the animated Star Trek series that is being made for kids.
