New York Mets outfielder Tim Tebow was assigned to minor-league camp on Tuesday.

Tebow joked in an interview with SNY that he would stay in touch with the big-leaguers.

“It’s only, like, three minutes away,” Tebow said Tuesday. “We have cell phones, too. I’ll stay in touch with these guys.”

Tebow, who had four hits and one RBI in 15 at-bats in the Grapefruit League, is expected to start the 2019 season at Triple-A Syracuse.

The 31-year-old Tebow has complied a .244 batting average with 14 home runs and 88 RBIs in 210 minor league games since signing with the Mets in 2016.

Among other moves Tuesday, the Mets also optioned Andrés Giménez, Dilson Herrera, Rymer Liriano, Ali Sánchez, Jacob Rhame and Paul Sewald to minor-league camp.
