Trump And Hillary Clinton Trade Shots In Twitter War, Hilarity Ensues

Americans who may have been hoping (for some reason) to re-live the 2016 election got a bit of disappointing news today with the confirmation that Hillary Clinton won’t be running against Donald Trump in 2020, but that doesn’t mean there’s no more fun to be had from the two candidates butting heads for old times’ sake.

The former First Lady, New York Senator, Secretary of State, and two-time presidential loser confirmed Monday she won’t be seeking the Democrat presidential nomination for a third time, Vox reports:

“I’m not running,” she said, “but I’m going to keep working on and speaking and standing up for what I believe” […]

“I want to be sure that people understand I’m going to keep speaking out,” she told News 12. “I’m not going anywhere. What’s at stake in our country, the kind of things that are happening right now are deeply troubling to me. And I’m also thinking hard about how do we start talking and listening to each other again? We’ve just gotten so polarized. We’ve gotten into really opposing camps unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my adult life.”

True to form, the guy who beat Clinton in the most shocking election outcome in American history couldn’t resist tweaking her for not jumping in:

Hillary — or, to be more accurate, whoever runs her social media accounts — shot back with a GIF from Mean Girls:

Clinton’s replies are chock-full of some pretty nauseating fawning over her “just brilliant” reply and liberal tears that she’s not the president, but the folks at Twitchy have a simpler answer in mind:

Would Trump defeat her again?

In all seriousness, Clinton’s Twitter followers are about the only people who were dreaming of “I’m With Her” 2020. Much has been made of how Hillary’s glaring personal negatives were one of Trump’s biggest advantages, along with some pretty astonishing blunders in where she chose not to campaign during the home stretch.

The plain truth is that Democrats themselves are the ones most sick of the Clintons, and made it perfectly clear after the election when you started hearing Democrats admit Bill Clinton’s treatment of women was despicable after all, and even that maybe he was a rapist after all.

No, the Democrats are set on making a clean break from the Clinton dynasty. It remains to be seen which of the current field of clowns will win the nomination, but as obviously foolish as they are right now, conservatives can’t get complacent.

Democrats lost in part because they took for granted the American people’s discontent with the status quo, and while Trump has delivered on some of his campaign promises, much of the swamp remains untouched. Republicans can’t afford to make the same mistake and fall into complacency over the next two years.
