Watch The Damning New Video of Osundairo Bros That Convinced Police To Charge Jussie Smollett

The evidence is now overwhelming that Empire actor Jussie Smollett faked a violent attack on himself for some politically-tinged self-promotion, and some of the most damning is security-camera footage of his “attackers” buying everything they needed to pretend to be pro-Trump thugs.

Chicago CBS reporter Charlie De Mar found the footage of Ola and Abel Osundairo checking out a pile of items, including ski masks, sunglasses, and a red cap:

Sources have said the two brothers told police they helped stage the attack with Smollett. They said they were paid $3,500 to pour a chemical on the actor, and place a rope around his neck, while yelling racist and homophobic slurs.

Two sources said they used a ride share vehicle to get to the Streeterville neighborhood, and were caught on camera appearing nervous.

Sources say at least one of the brothers bought the rope used in the incident at Smollett’s request. The sources also say Smollett paid for the rope, which was purchased at the Crafty Beaver Hardware Store in the Ravenswood neighborhood the weekend of Jan. 25 […]

The sources say Smollett directed the brothers to obtain the items and that the attack was supposed to happen before Jan. 29. The brothers told detectives the three men rehearsed the attack days prior to it happening.

All this because poor Jussie was unhappy with his salary.

It doesn’t sound like anyone involved in this scheme was particularly bright, though considering how many times in the past leftists have gotten away with hate crime hoaxes, one can almost see how they assumed they’d get away with it in left-wing Chicago. Then again, paying your accomplices with a check that’s currently in prosecutors’ possession is a whole new level of stupidity.

Now that the jig is up, Chicago police are none too pleased that Smollett not only wasted their time and manpower, but dragged their city through the mud:

“Why would anyone especially an African-American man, use the symbolism of a noose to make false accusations? Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson asked at a press conference Thursday. “How can an individual who’s been embraced by the city of Chicago turn around and slap everyone in the city in the face with these false claims?”

“I’m offended by what happened and I’m angry,” Johnson declared. “This publicity stunt was a scar that Chicago didn’t own and certainly didn’t deserve.”

If convicted Smollett could face three years in prison and have to pay back the investigation costs. Right now his lawyers are talking tough about mounting an “aggressive defense,” but if they’re smart they’ll just accept whatever plea deal prosecutors may feel merciful enough to offer (but then, if liberals were smart Jussie Smollett wouldn’t have gotten himself in this mess in the first place).

We’ll leave you tonight with tweet from Smollett himself in October, making the rounds today for its prophetic new meaning:
